The House

Las Coruxinas ("the little owls" in the Asturian language, Bable) is a charming holiday home nestled at the foot of the El Cuera mountains, just a few kilometres from the beautiful beaches and picturesque fishing port of Llanes, in Asturias.

Dating back to 1870, the house forms part of a traditional Asturian farmhouse. Carefully restored, it combines original character with modern comforts, creating the perfect setting for a peaceful countryside escape. As an end-of-terrace cottage, it enjoys a spacious private garden where you can relax and take in the tranquil surroundings.

Wake up to birdsong, enjoy the fresh mountain air, and unwind to the gentle sounds of owls, distant cowbells or the occasional bray of the neighbour's donkey. A footpath beside the cottage leads directly into El Cuera mountains, making Las Coruxinas an excellent base for walking, hiking, and exploring the spectacular landscapes of northern Spain.

Whether you're looking for outdoor adventures, days on the beach, or simply a quiet place to relax, Las Coruxinas offers the perfect blend of rural charm, comfort, and convenience.

The cottage is laid out over two floors. On the ground floor, you'll find a fully equipped open-plan kitchen, a comfortable living and dining area, and a half-bath. The rear door opens onto a private terrace, the perfect spot for breakfast, al fresco dining, or simply relaxing in the sunshine.

Upstairs, the cottage features a peaceful double bedroom, a second bathroom with a bath and shower, and a cosy lounge with beautiful views of the El Cuera mountains and a traditional Asturian hórreo (raised granary). The lounge also serves as a second bedroom, with a comfortable double sofa bed, making the cottage ideal for couples, families, or friends.

Outside, the spacious private garden offers plenty of room to relax, whether you prefer sunshine or shade. A picnic table provides the perfect setting for outdoor meals while enjoying the peaceful countryside.

The kitchen is well equipped for everything from simple breakfasts to home-cooked dinners. High-quality bedding and towels are provided to ensure a comfortable and restful stay.

The cottage has been individually decorated by your host, Carin Steen, an artist who lives and works in the beautiful hórreo behind the house, adding a unique and personal touch to your stay.
